Today’s word for April 12, 2011

Those who work their land will have abundant food,
but those who chase fantasies have no sense.
Proverbs 12:11

There are many people who spend a lifetime just dreaming. Their world is a world full of desires and low on achievements. These people live every day dreaming of doing this or that and imagining having one or the other. These are persons with disabilities to achieve anything because they are captive in a world of fantasies and false hopes that keeps them completely separated from reality. One example of these prone to fantasizing people we can find on those who spend their whole lives thinking they are going to hit the lottery jackpot. I’m not saying it’s wrong to have dreams and aspirations. You can have dreams and aspirations but they must be feasible and achievable and they must have a noble purpose or otherwise they become frustrating, depressing or unhealthy desires. Watching how many of those dreams never become reality can lead to the development of roots of bitterness towards those that are not to blame for the false expectations that we have created for ourselves.

Our aspirations for justice, truth and equality can only be achieved, in particular, by establishing a personal relationship with the Creator of the universe and, in general and in the future, when the Savior, the Son of God, King of kings and Lord of lords returns with his heavenly army to impose order and justice on earth. Let us, then, maintain a down to earth attitude, and let us determine ourselves to meet the achievable goals that we have set for ourselves or that have been allocated to us by someone else and let us march forward toward the dream of freedom that can only be achieved in the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ . To God alone be the glory!
