Princes’ school

Your sons will take the place of your fathers;
you will make them princes throughout the land.
Psalm 45:16

Part of the preparations we children of God receive in this earthly life has to do with the fact that after our Lord returns for His church and the final judgment is carried out the new Jerusalem will descend from heaven. From that moment all the blessings promised by God to their children will be sent as abundant rain upon the earth.  The throne of God and the Lamb will be located in Jerusalem and from there he will rule the earth. We, the sons of God, will be responsible for representing this government as rulers of all the nations. Hence, it is very important to make the most out all the training we receive in this life because everything we learn now will be very useful when that time comes.

Are we learning to be fair and exercise justice in everything we do? Are we aware of the important role we will play when the Kingdom of God comes? Have we become aware of the responsibility and privilege attached to our appointment as princes of God to the nations? Remember that we are “a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” Let us look at every situation that arises in our life as a learning opportunity that will prove be very useful when the time comes for us to exercise the government functions that God will assign to us in his future Kingdom. When that important time comes we will be perfectly capable of carrying out his orders. To God alone be the glory!
