Watchfulness

The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous,
and his ears are attentive to their cry;
but the face of the LORD is against those who do evil,
to blot out their name from the earth.
Psalms 34:15-16

The author of the Epistle to the Hebrews tells us: “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Although we can not see God, we know that he exists and that he is aware and watchful of all those who have accepted His Son Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of our lives. Just as we know that he exists we are sure that his eyes are constantly upon us to protect us from the attacks of our enemies. Some believe that God exists, and that after creating the universe he devoted to other things and he no longer was interested or wanted to have anything to do with what happens in this world. This is just a way of approaching atheism without leaving all of theism.. It’s a kind of middle ground that is neither hot nor cold but lukewarm. Either you believe in God and everything he represents and everything he claims to be and be able to do or you do not believe in him at all. God can not be heedless of his creation. It was for the sake of all mankind that He sent His Son Jesus Christ to take upon his shoulders the death sentence that we deserved as sinners.

In the same way we believe in the existence of God we are convinced that God is opposed to evil and injustice. All those who have made his life a source of evil, a shedding of innocent blood and an abuse of power are under the cross hairs of God’s sight. Judgement, punishment and painful retribution for all their wrongdoing are the things that God has in store for them. It is likely that at this time you are being subjected to persecution or injustice. It is very likely that you think that God is taking too long to respond or has completely abandoned you. Those are the lies that the enemy loves to use to make our life impossible. Remember what God’s word says and continue to put your hope in the Almighty and in his powerful name. To God alone be the glory!
