Financial savvy

Dishonest money dwindles away,
but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow.
Proverbs 13:11

The whole world is facing a financial crisis that seems to be endless. Countries whose economies use to look solid are now on the brink of bankruptcy and if they have not done so yet is just because of the expensive financial aid they get from other countries that belong to the same economic bloc. Much of the economic boom these countries showed up in the past was due to subsidies and beneficial trade policies and customs  coming from the bloc and much of what they considered wealth came not from honest work. This is what happens to just about every culture and generation that lives on handouts and does not strive to work and build. History shows us many examples of how these inexorable economic principles work. He who does not produce goes directly into financial bondage.

It’s no secret that these are tough times requiring great skill to manage the scarce resources available. One of the most powerful tactics to shield and protect ourselves through the economic crisis is saving. Let us get used  to save money and as God’s word says,we will gradually get richer. Let us not forget to set aside God’s tithes and offerings, because if these two practices, together with savings, are not present in our portfolio our financial status will never be healthy. Applying the wisdom that God conveys through his word and obeying his instructions will allow us to live a life full of satisfactions and achievements, both financial and spiritual. To God alone be the glory!
