How useless to spread a net
where every bird can see it!
These men lie in wait for their own blood;
they ambush only themselves!
The fate of those who have decided to pursue a life of crime and perversion is announced and will come in due course. It is quite possible that those who do wrong are aware of what awaits them for their wrongdoing and yet little they care about their eternal future. They continue to act maliciously causing all the damage they can do to achieve their personal goals in this world. Not only they will do all the evil they may cause bu they will also invite those who do not act like them to accompany them in their outrages. They believe that if all do wrong their responsibility will be diluted in the collective responsibility. They do not understand that the judgment that will come is a personal one and saying that the wrong they did is no different from the bad that others will not work as an excuse or mitigating factor to reduce their sentence.
Let us not be convinced by these people to pursue evil purposes. Our destination is the heavenly country where the throne of God and the Lamb is. Our heritage is love, joy and peace in God’s presence for eternity. Our future is assured by Him who gave His life for us on a Roman cross. We have nothing to do with darkness or with the people who hide in them to satisfy their appetites and passions. Eternal life awaits for us and weeping and gnashing of teeth in eternal punishment awaits for them. Let’s look at the future with confidence and act with gratitude and loyalty to Him who rescued us from darkness to bring us into His marvelous light, our beloved Lord Jesus Christ. Only to God be the glory!

—my son, do not go along with them,
do not set foot on their paths;
for their feet rush into evil,
they are swift to shed blood
The world and his followers have but one purpose: to destroy our soul. To that end they use all kinds of tricks to make us deviate from the straight path that leads to God. All the kingdoms of the world and their splendor will parade before our eyes to attract our undivided attention and separate us from God’s plans. The will try to trick us into believing that our position in Christ is worthless and that following the teachings of the Lord is of no avail. They will make us believe that following Christ is something antiquated and dogmatic and that in light of scientific and philosophical breakthroughs it can be demonstrated that Christianity is just a myth. The world will use everything at its fingertips to confuse us so that we turn away from Christ. If all of God’s children would realize how subtle the world gets through our eyes and tries to take control of our minds and our hearts there would not be so many cases of Christians who have fallen and feel defeated.
Let us seek, therefore, the wisdom that comes from above, from the throne of God so that we can move through the world without falling victim to its tricks and deceptions. With our gaze fixed firmly on the goal and forgetting everything that lays behind let us strive to run the race with our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith so that we will never tire or lose courage. With love let us hope for his return that is not long in coming. Instead of running to do evil, let us always hasten to do good, which pleases God. In this way we will be honoring the name of Christ, which is above every other name in all of creation. Only to God be the glory!
“If you play the fool and exalt yourself,
or if you plan evil,
clap your hand over your mouth!
For as churning cream produces butter,
and as twisting the nose produces blood,
so stirring up anger produces strife.”
There are people who get into trouble very easily without realizing what they are doing. All starts as a game, as a joke, a prank, but then they do not know where to stop and end up creating an argument from which they cannot get away easily. These are foolish and ignorant people who never stop to measure the consequences of their actions and to make matters worse, they are always blaming others for what happens to them. Everything begins as an “innocent” game that ends in disturbed relationships and even hatred that never heals. His actions are devoid of the slightest trace of love because they can care less of what others may feel.
Want to live in peace and free of misunderstandings? Restrain your tongue. Do you want to restore calm and keep your relationships free of disputes and discussions? Think about what you are going to say before opening your mouth. People are complex beings and very unpredictable, so you will never know with certainty how the other person will react to your jokes. Do not try to have the last word because it will lead to conflict and dissatisfaction. May there always be on your lips a word of encouragement and edification and may your life be peaceful and just at all times. That’s what I wish for you. To God alone be the glory!
They sacrificed their sons
and their daughters to false gods.
They shed innocent blood,
the blood of their sons and daughters,
whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan,
and the land was desecrated by their blood.
They defiled themselves by what they did;
by their deeds they prostituted themselves.
God had a good reason to forbid the Israelites who left Egypt to mix with the people who temporarily occupied extensions of the land of Canaan and surrounding regions. Not only were they forbidden to associate with the pagan people but they were ordered to utterly destroy all of them. Many have used these instructions from God to the people of Israel , taking the word of God out of context, to say that God is a cruel and unloving god. They conveniently ignore the intrinsic justice that belongs to the divine nature. The barbarities and abominations that these people were accustomed to do in the name of their religion were truly horrific and despicable. One of his most gruesome ritual was the sacrifice of their children to idols. Giving children’s lives in bloody sacrifice to demons posing as gods is totally unacceptable and incomprehensible to those of us who live in more civilized times.
Yet somehow, in general we have allowed our children to be surrendered in sacrifice to the world and even to the enemy of our souls by condoning their desire to live according to the ideas that prevail in these times. In these postmodern times the material dominates over the spiritual, the exterior over the interior, the temporal over the enduring, the urgent over the important, the superficial over the fundamental, confusion over what is solid, randomness over firmness, the ambiguous over the absolute. All these new (actually not so new) ideas that are contrary to the principles and the established paths laid out in the word of God are common and prevalent today. Our children have embraced these ideas and we have passively allowed the world to hijack the minds and hearts of our boys and girls. Let us act with decision and courage to rescue our children from the idols and demons that shape this decadent society. It is never too late when the purpose is the salvation of their souls. With the help of our Lord Jesus Christ we shall overcome. To God alone be the glory!
The Lord says, “I will bring them from Bashan;
I will bring them from the depths of the sea,
that your feet may wade in the blood of your foes,
while the tongues of your dogs have their share.”
To imagine a battle where the abundant shed blood of the defeated soaks the feet of the victorious is a hard thing to accomplish especially for those of us who have had the fortune of not having been involved in any kind of conflict. But these horrific scenes will be witnessed by those involved in that final battle where the foes of Israel shall find their punishment and their end. For centuries these nations and Peoples have been accumulating the wrath of God upon their heads and in this final battle God will pour on them all the weight of his divine justice. In that day the promises of Psalm 58 will come to pass «The righteous will be glad when they are avenged, when they dip their feet in the blood of the wicked. Then people will say, “Surely the righteous still are rewarded; surely there is a God who judges the earth.”»
Vengeance belongs to the Lord and he will not ignore the attacks and insults that these enemy nations and Peoples have carried out for many years against the people of God. God promises that he will manifest his glory among the nations. They will all see how God judges and punishes, and from that day, the holy people will know that Adonai is the Lord their God. Do you find yourself under attack by a wicked enemy? The actions of these villains are accumulating against them and when the time is ripe the King of kings and Lord of lords will come against them to enforce his divine justice and to pour his wrath upon the nations. From that moment the world will know the real meaning of true peace. To God alone be the glory!
If I were hungry I would not tell you,
for the world is mine, and all that is in it.
Do I eat the flesh of bulls
or drink the blood of goats?
For the Jewish people, events and ceremonies in which they offered a scapegoat at the altar of the temple of Jerusalem had become a mere ritual that simply took care of a requirement of the law and had lost the meaning for which these acts had been instituted . They thought they were doing God a favor by presenting these sacrifices of blood, as if God were thirsting for it. This perception had infiltrated their midst because of the careless exposure of the Jewish people to idolatrous cults that were part of the everyday life of villages in Israel. The author of Hebrews makes it clear, “the gifts and sacrifices being offered were not able to clear the conscience of the worshiper. They are only a matter of food and drink and various ceremonial washings—external regulations applying until the time of the new order.”
Now, under the new covenant of grace, shedding the blood of animals is no longer necessary because everything has been replaced by the final and perfect sacrifice of Christ on the cross of Calvary. Now the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit was offered himself unblemished to God, “cleanses our consciences from acts that lead to death,so that we may serve the living God!” Let us not allow that the acts and reflections that celebrate the memory of that perfect sacrifice become a ritual and a repetitive action for our lives. God does not need us but we do need him a lot. Let our service offering be a pleasant smell that rises unimpeded to the very presence of God. Let us not do it as if God needed it, because he does not need it, but rather let our service be a sign of the deep gratitude we feel for the salvation that we have undeservedly received according to His perfect will and love. To God alone be the glory!
