So he swore to them with uplifted hand
that he would make them fall in the wilderness,
make their descendants fall among the nations
and scatter them throughout the lands.
One of the most striking examples of disobedience and ingratitude that I am aware of is the attitude shown by the people of Israel after they escaped, with the help and protection of God, from the slavery Pharaoh imposed on them. Once the painful burden of the activity required to make the huge amount of bricks needed to meet the aggressive construction plans of the king was removed from their shoulders, they were not able to understand or handle the freedom that God had provided. After four centuries of servitude, the transition to liberty was too hard to assimilate and they were struck by confusion. The consequences were severe. All that generation that left Egypt was buried in the wilderness and none of them managed to set foot on the land God had promised, and not because God had broken his promise, but because of their disobedience and contempt for God’s instructions, attitude that brought disgrace to their lives. Today we see many who behave in the same way these unfortunates did when they rejected God’s blessings.
Are you wishing to return to the state where you were before knowing the Lord Jesus? Is your life full of ingratitude and complaints against him who has given you everything you are, you do and you have? Have you raised dumb idols to honor and devote all your attention to them? ¿Do you underestimate the wonderful plan God has prepared for you? Do you complain constantly about everything and for nothing? We must be careful not to become obstacles to the fulfillment of God’s plan. If we stand in the path of God’s purposes we will be hit with the force of a heavy locomotive at full speed. Let us be grateful and obedient to God all the time and in every occasion. This attitude will be of great benefit to us, both materially and spiritually. To God alone be the glory!

Praise the LORD, you his angels,
you mighty ones who do his bidding,
who obey his word.
An anonymous author once wrote that “Everyone has the right to be stupid but some abuse the privilege.” Although the statement in question is highly charged with cynicism, it is still true oftentimes. Current events and news clips related to the supposed arrival, just today, of judgment day corroborate the observation made by the anonymous and cynic author of the aforementioned quote. The sinful nature of human beings drives them to be strongly attracted to the speculative, the occult, the fantastic and whatever has to do with scandal. Charlatans and deceivers take advantage of this inherent weakness in man to get people confused and to make personal profit at the expense of human ingenuity and stupidity. Another example is the resurgence of the New Age, which is nothing new because its teachings and philosophical concepts are based on old idolatry and doctrinal errors that were shown to be false a long time ago. However, people get these false teachings as something new and true. One of his favorite themes is Angelology, or the study of angels. According to these dealers of lies, angels are powerful spiritual beings who are in the service of humanity. I can only agree with these charlatans that angels are powerful spiritual beings but what the got completely wrong is that these beings are at the service of humanity.
Today’s word is clear about it. Angels obey the word of God and do his bidding. They obey the commands of God, not man’s. Even the fallen angels, better known as demons, do not obey man. They only recognize Satan as their leader and master. Of course, Satan, the father of lies, has been in charge of spreading around that these angelic beings are willing to do anything that is mandated by knowledgeable people who follow these false doctrines. Somehow the enemy gets it his way by making the attention of his deceived victims to focus on these presumed servants of humanity, and not on God, the Creator and Sustainer of life and the universe. Anybody who wants to learn about angels must study the Bible. There he will realize how much quackery he has been deceived with all this time. To God alone be the glory!

Long life is in her right hand;
in her left hand are riches and honor.
Her ways are pleasant ways,
and all her paths are peace.
If all the riches of the world were to be distributed among all people of the earth, there would not be enough money to make everybody a millionaire. In fact, everybody would be poor. Not so if what were to be distributed was wisdom. The source of wisdom is inexhaustible; there is much more than enough to go around. To gain wisdom is something relatively easy to accomplish, in fact, too simple. However, very few are wise despite the abundance of wisdom that is available for all. We have said it before: fear of the Lord is the key to wisdom. We have also said that to have fear of the Lord does not mean that we need to be afraid of Him but that we must show reverential respect and obedience towards Him. To understand what the fear of the Lord is, we need to be able to communicate with him. To be able to communicate with Him, we need to know Him and to have a relationship with Him. Only one thing stands in our way to prevent the above mentioned steps to happen: sin, which blocks all possibility of communication with God because it separates us from Him. In Jesus we can find the solution to this quandary, because He took upon Himself all the sins of the world so every obstacle preventing us from having access to the Father would be removed and we could have a relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ. How easy and yet how difficult it is for man to understand these things!
Now we, who have had the privilege of knowing God, let our lives be full of the fear of the Lord so we may receive wisdom from above and so we may partake of all the benefits it entrails. Then, we will live long lives full of honor and riches, walking along pleasant ways, enjoying peace and all other benefits that come along with it. Let us share with others what Jesus has done for us so they may also have access to the blessing of being made children of God and the privilege of walking down peaceful and joyful paths. There is more than plenty of wisdom from above for all who come to Jesus! Only to God be the glory!
