From their callous hearts comes iniquity;
their evil imaginations have no limits.
They scoff, and speak with malice;
with arrogance they threaten oppression.
Psalm 73:7-8

The wicked hide their true and grim intentions. As much as they simulate and make an effort to hide what is really behind their actions, it is generally easy to see where they come and what they want. Pride and arrogance make these people feel optimistic about getting their ill will go unnoticed in order to do more damage or more profit. Unfortunately many people, boasting an incredible naiveté come to accept without question all the false promises and lies that these people offer. Many, unsuspectingly end up entangled in the traps of these vile creatures. The product of their misdeeds is erroneously considered by the ignorant as a personal victory and a demonstration of intelligence and leadership.

The children of God must be very careful when they observe the actions of these individuals to not be swayed by their lies and their honeyed words. God has given us the discernment to not be misled by the siren song of these evildoers. The more we rely on the word of God the better we will be protected from the scams and traps that they will try to use against us. let us not neglect, then, the daily study of God’s word which along with the application of that word to our lives will result in strength and intelligence not to believe the lies of these slaves of Satan or get carried away by their bad examples. Close to God nothing can deviate us from the path of righteousness.To God alone be the glory!

Today’s word for June 9, 2011

Awake, Lord! Why do you sleep?
Rouse yourself! Do not reject us forever.
Why do you hide your face
and forget our misery and oppression?
Psalm 44:23-24

The remarkable difference that has always existed between the plans of men and God’s plan is what makes many to think that the occasional silence of God is due to rejection, isolation or neglect on the part of our heavenly Father. Sometimes it is true that if we show a reprehensible conduct God’s will not support our plans and it will appear as if we have been ignored, but the reality is that God never leaves his children alone and if God is silent to our clamor it is because this is part of his plan . To begin with, God never rejects the repentant sinner. It is God who seeks and takes the first step that can bring about reconciliation between him and men. If we seek him with all our heart is because he has sought us first and he has never rejected our approach to him for protection. All God expects from us is that we have faith in him and that this faith is manifested through obedience to his mandates. While we remain in obedience to him our relationship with our Father is going to be perfect.

God is not someone who has bad memory and forgets things sooner than promised. It is man who sometimes tries to excuse himself from a commitment by claiming forgetfulness as justification. The only thing that God can forget is mentioned by the prophet Ezekiel: “But if a wicked person turns away from all the sins they have committed and keeps all my decrees and does what is just and right, that person will surely live; they will not die. None of the offenses they have committed will be remembered against them. Because of the righteous things they have done, they will live.” Jeremiah reinforces the message when he says: “For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.” So we know that God can never forget about us since the only thing he forgets about is the offenses of a repentant sinner. Do not say, then, that God has forgotten about us. It is a lie of the enemy and as such, we must ignore it. Put your trust in God and he will act. To God alone be the glory!
